INSURANCES ACCEPTED: ALL insurances including Medicare, straight Medi-Cal, and CCHP Medi-Cal
Because of the long wait list, however, please consider telling your patients with CCHP Medi-Cal and Commercial CCHP to see an outside acupuncturist (SEE BELOW). If they need further visits beyond what is covered for outside acupuncturist, then you can refer them to our Internal Acupuncture clinics.

*Requirements:**
1. Chief complaint must be LESS THAN 5 YEARS OLD
2. DO NOT REFER: smoking cessation, tinnitus, vertigo, hypertension, weight loss, or depression without Psych. care
3. Don't refer EMPLOYEES with CCHP insurance - they get 10 free visits per year with outside acupuncturists, no referral needed (see #1 below)
4. Make sure pt. can go every week for 1- 2 months.
5. Send an IN-BASKET message to Dr. Joyce Tang so these pts. can be seen right away:
  • new onset Bell's Palsy
  • breech pregnancy
  • hyperemesis gravidarum
  • cancer pts. currently on chemo
  • acute tailbone injury

OUTSIDE ACUPUNCTURE CLINICS:

1. COUNTY EMPLOYEEES with CCHP Commercial Plan A or B
get 10 free visits per year with these acupuncturists contracted with CCHP.
No referral is necessary. No waiting. Just call them and go.

2. NEW - CCHP MEDI-CAL PATIENTS
- You can now refer your patients with CCHP Medi-Cal to outside acupuncturists!
- Pts. get 2 visits per month for free, with typically no waiting, and no pre-authorization needed
- Just tell your patient to call the provider to make an appointment

How to get this info to our patients:
1. In Patient Instructions, type the Smart Phrase "acupuncturecchpproviders"
2. Print this list and give it to them
3. The updated list is always on the CCHP web site: http://cchp.prismisp.com - select ‘Acupuncture’ for Specialty.
- This is a good way to start or continue patients on acupuncture. Patients will often need weekly treatments initially, and in our internal clinics they can have weekly treatments for up to 8 weeks. We then refer them out to this list if they have Medi-Cal.

3. LOW COST COMMUNITY ACUPUNCTURE in the Berkeley and Oakland areasis available in the community in a group setting ($15-40 per visit).Print this list for your patients and encourage them to go!
